They are active at night when they are hunting for mice, rabbits, and rats. That is something to keep in mind if you like night hiking or fishing. Because Texas is so big, there are actually nine different kinds of rattlers living in various parts of the state. It is worthwhile to become familiar with the snakes in the area where you live or vacation. The cottonmouth stays near water. The cottonmouth can grow to nearly six feet long. It eats fish, frogs, and small animals. When its mouth opens, it is white, resembling cotton. They can bite underwater. Fishers and swimmers alike should be on the lookout for cottonmouths. Copperheads are hard to see. They have a copper-colored head. They blend in well with their surroundings such as a fallen leaves on the ground, boards, logs, or tin. A person may accidentally sit on a copperhead and be bitten. They bite instead of striking. Coral snakes are shy. They are colored in bands of red, yellow, and black. They are not aggressive and have a small mouth. This kind of snake is dangerous, but rarely bites. There are other snakes with similar coloring. To remember the color of coral snakes, remember the rhyme, "red and yellow kill a fellow". One common attribute of rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and copperheads is that they have sensitivity to heat. This sensitivity is located near the snake's nostrils and helps it locate warm-blooded prey. Precautions against getting bit involve looking where you walk, sit, or put your hands, such as turning over a log or grasping a rock or piece of wood. As snakes are cold-blooded, they may sun themselves on rocks or wood piles. Wood piles give them a place to warm themselves, but also a way to slither away to hide. If they feel trapped or are stepped on, they will bite. Most bites occur below the knee, so knee high leather boots are a good protective measure. If a person does get bit, he or she should be taken to a hospital for treatment because the venom is dangerous, and can prove fatal. My mom sent me to the store to buy a loaf of bread. I walked up the street a couple blocks to a corner store. While I was on the way back to the place we were staying at in Florida, I saw some geese by a nearby pond. I thought to myself that the geese might like something to eat. I walked over and took a couple pieces of bread out of the bag, tore them up, and started feeding the geese and ducks that were swimming in the pond. They started coming out of the water toward me. I was excited thinking "WOW, HOW COOL IS THIS!?!". Some of the geese were nearly as big as I was! They started gathering all around me and I was laughing at them. I couldn't tear the bread up fast enough, those geese were HUNGRY! One of them was behind me and started pecking at my bare legs. I started to feel nervous. It wasn't long before I got bit again, and then I got scared. "Ouch that hurt!" I said. I grabbed the bread and started walking away. The geese started following me. I looked back and they were still following me, honking, and hissing with their wings spread wide. They came at me faster in a big flock. I started to run. They caught up to me and started biting at my legs. I was screaming, running, kicking and swinging the loaf of bread at them all at the same time. There must have been 10 or 12 Geese, but to me it seemed like there were a 100. I was about to be killed by geese!?!? Finally, I ran as fast as I could away from them and didn't look back. I ran as fast as my feet would carry me with what was left of that loaf of bread in my hand. When I didn't hear them honking anymore I looked back and they were far away. That's when I realized I was lost. I figured I had ran right past the hotel. I could still see the geese, but I did not want to go back that way. I sat down on the curb and cried while rubbing my sore legs. (A victim of a goosing.) I had welts down the back of both of my legs. I decided that I didn't like geese anymore. I sat there trying to figure out why the geese would attack me after I was feeding them. I sat there crying, talking to myself under my breath, and asking God, "Why were those geese so mean to me? Stupid geese!" Suddenly a lady's voice said, "Are you okay?". I stood up, wiped the tears from my eyes, caught my breath, and explained to the lady what had happened. I told her that I was lost and that I was afraid to go back because of the geese. The lady was so nice. I don't remember her name. I do remember she looked like anyone else except her eyes looked kind and friendly. She said "I will help you get home." She took me by my hand and we started walking. I said to her, "My mom is probably going to be really mad, I was supposed to just go get the bread. Now look at it!!!" The bread was all smashed up. I had used it as a weapon to fight off the geese. I never have seen bread look so busted up. (Except, if you were going to make Stuffing.) She just laughed and asked if she should get me a new loaf of bread. I said, "No, I just want to go home." She laughed with me a little more as I recognized the place I was staying at with my family. I felt like I was going to be in the most trouble I have ever been in. I don't know why that lady did what she did, but she took a situation where I was scared, hurt, and lonely and she made me feel like everything was going to be okay. We were laughing about the welts on my legs. We were laughing at the smashed bread. We were laughing about those 'stupid' geese! Looking back today, I know she was an angel, maybe NOT the typical angel with wings and stuff but an ANGEL IN HUMAN FORM. She not only helped me find my way home but she saved me from my fears. The way I seen it, ONLY an Angel could do THAT! The funny truth is we all have that potential. To help someone in need. To make someone smile or laugh during a hard time. It's not a very big thing to ask, is it? We all have the potential to create miracles every day. Do something kind for someone when they least expect it, to be someone's angel. It is WONDERFUL to LIVE IN A WORLD where a few geese with bad attitudes inspire people to have better attitudes toward each other.

Hunger is not just the need to fill an empty stomach. Those who have the means are still not satisfied. They crave not just essential nutrition, but increasingly also junk foods and substances detrimental to health. The thin, flaky manna in the desert, complemented by quail whenever the Israelites complained, sustained them for forty years! In fact, for all that time there was not one feeble person among them! (Ps. 105: 37) No matter what or how much you eat, experience, or strive for will ever suffice. There will continue to be a big empty hole that constantly demands to be filled. The inherent hunger in every human being to be fed spiritually cannot be satisfied unless and until the Spirit of God Himself infill him. "Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages... put it into a bag with holes." (Hag. 1: 6) God's answer at that time was that He had caused a drought because His people had become apathetic in the middle of rebuilding the temple. The foundation had been laid but all work had stopped as soon as they encountered opposition. His instructions were to consider their ways and go up to the mountain and build the His temple. It's a gaming app that sticks to the original concept of Pokemon of catching them all, and defeating gym leaders. But, this app has people jumping out of their seats with excitement, literally. Pokemon Go uses Google Maps to place Pokemon around the world. Players use a tracking system to locate Pokemon in a 30 meter radius. Once the player finds the Pokemon, they then use the camera on their smart phone to aim and throw a Pokeball at the Pokemon to capture it. An estimated number of 9.5 million people are banding together to become the next Pokemon master. The app has groups of friends searching around their towns and cities to catch'em all. It sounds fun, right? So here are five basic tips to get you started, so that you and your friends can join in on the action. 1. The Tracking System The tracking system is located in the lower right hand corner of your phone showing you what Pokemon are in a 30 meter radius of your location via Google Maps. Notice how your persona emits a constant circle almost like they are using radar or echolocation? This circle extends up to 10 meters so that you can more accurately pinpoint Pokemon. Pull up the tracking system now. Notice there are footprints by each Pokemon? Each footprint represents 10 meters. So, if the Pokemon has three footprints by them then they are 30 meters away. If the Pokemon has one footprint then they are only 10 meters away from you and you need to go catch them! 2. Pokemon Candy and Stardust Pokemon evolve once you obtain the right amount of candy depicted in their summary. Stardust is used to power up the combat level (CP) of your Pokemon. It is recommended you wait to use these on a high CP Pokemon so that when they evolve they have the highest amount of CP possible. 3. Where to Find Pokemon Many Pokemon are concentrated in popular places around you such as downtown or famous landmarks. If you want to find a certain type of Pokemon, then look for them in their natural environment. You will find water Pokemon by sources of water, ghost Pokemon at night, and grass Pokemon in fields and forest. Some Pokemon can only be caught by walking a certain amount of kilometers to hatch them from eggs or by evolving them. 4. Important Items. Pokeballs are naturally the most important item you need to capture Pokemon. Be sure to regularly stop by Pokestops to flip the icon with a swipe of your finger to get more. Items such as incense and lures will attract wild Pokemon to you, but use them sparingly as there aren't many. Be sure to get rid of any items to make room for more, as your backpack can only hold so many items. 5. Challenging Gyms You can challenge gyms once you are level five. Attack the other Pokemon by rapidly tapping on them. You can dodge by swiping right or left. Use a special attack by pressing and holding your finger on the other Pokemon. Research into the impact of multiple concussions has been in the works for many years now, but it was only recently that a slew of NFL players have brought a personal injury case against the NFL for these injuries. A recent case has just reached a new settlement that will be a major turning point. Recent Settlement A few months ago, both sides put forth a $76 million settlement agreement that was tentative at the time. The judge presiding over the case rejected this amount on the basis that a capped amount would not provide enough of a personal injury settlement for some injured players. Recently, both sides agreed to an uncapped amount. The Breakdown Here are the amounts that both sides have agreed upon - in addition to necessary treatments and other costs that pertain to each case.
